I'm a licensed marriage and family therapist and a certified couples and sex therapist in Encino, CA. Gina Ogden is one of the few sexologists who has interviewed and written about women whose sexuality is fully expressed. AS a therapist, I treat women who vary in age from 30 to age 75 and beyond, divorced, widowed, single and coupled. Like may women who could benefit from this book,my patients need my instruction, understanding and support to help them discover and in many instances, help them develop a mature, confident, erotic sexuality. It is surprising how many women, even if they are or have been married for many years, suffer from lack of information, low self-esteem, family of origin trauma or fear of closeness and sexual intimacy. Gina Ogden's book illustrates the wide range of sexual expression possible in women. This is important information for women who aspire to achieving their sexual potential over their life span. Ogden does not discuss the complex factors that determine sexual development and expression. But she illustrates with real life examples, the wide range of female sexual expression. This book is helpful for women who are seeking and ready to learn. It is not a self-help book and according to this reviewer, not a replacement for deep inner work with a qualified therapist.Lynn Krown,MFT.
