I am a CASA... court appointed special advocate... we are assigned by the court to work closely with a child or family that has suffered abuse or neglect. This book explains how the perpetrator gains a hold on their victim and the trauma suffered. It’s very well written and I have passed it on to be read by others.Very interesting book, I came away smarter for reading itI am a volunteer to fight Human Trafficking in this book really tells it like it is. I recommend this book.I heard Theresa speak at an awareness seminar and am amazed that she has been able to heal from her experience and use it to help others. This book is definitely worth the read.A wake up to little known cruelty that is much too common here in the US. Hope this brings about reactions that are effective to save these victims.Gripping story! i wanted to know what happened to the perpetrators! A must read story to make us all aware of what can happen when do not confront bullies. they should be castratedThis is a horrifying book but one I couldn't put down. It made me very angry. Thank God we usually we get away with it when we make a rash decision as teenagers but Theresa didn't. The outcome for her was horrifying beyond belief. It makes me feel ill how cruel people can beExcellent account of the insidious elements of hymn trafficking and how sometimes school personnel turn a Blind eyesore bullying.Anyone who questions why Theresa didn't just walk away from this insidious situation needs their head examined. This book smashes the myth that it's only a certain type of vulnerable young person who can be targeted by evil people. In fact, some of what made Theresa vulnerable to these creatures is exactly what we, as parents, subconciously install in our kids; not wanting to disappoint parents, a love so strong and loyal that the child can't bear to hurt the parent by letting them know what's going on, a fear of messing up, discouraging vanity (which I agreed with entirely until I read this book - i now realise what is required is balance where vanity is concerned). An absolute must read for anyone with children, written by a true warrior. The story. I hope it will help other young people in that situation. I hope that that Theresa will have happiness with her children for the rest of her life. This true story is a must to be in library and schools and colleges the heart breaking account of the author must make us look twice at the bullying of girls and support them when they look you in the eye and ask for helpFor most part of the story i felt it was a little far fetched, that she could have escaped, however reading the explanation about the different types of trafficking helped me understand that not all situations are the same. Well done theresa for where you are today. This is another book that you don't want to put down because it has you wanting to know what comes next
