This whip is great for beginners because it's not made to bleed very easily. The pain even at its hardest whip is more of a 3.5 if even that. The quality of the handle is good, I haven't seen defects with it yet (I'll try to remember to update this when it does degrade so I can give it a good run down on how long it took and how much abuse I had to take before it would break). The flogger is made out of faux leather so it feels strange, but still is good enough to feel it.I'm not going to rate this any less than 4 stars because the level of the master/servant shouldn't really make this product worse unless the product claimed to be made for extreme users. I recommend not to dip this into water, so no shower whipping since the handle will probably fall apart. As a final remark it smells like gasoline, not sure why.Not the best flogger, but it gets the job done. Would spend a lot more money for something that is actually leather. Great intro toy.Definitely for beginners. It's pretty well-made and fun to play around with but it's very lightweight. If you're looking for something that does more than sting, go for the real thing and get leather. This takes tremendous force to make it sting or even turn the skin a pale pink but it is a nice, long flogger (24"!) & the handle is sturdy. Be aware that the wrist strap is pretty small about the size of a credit card (see picture). I have small hands and wrists and it takes a little finaggling to get it on and it's even worse for my boyfriend who has large hands. It's still a great product and I'd definitely recommend this to a friend.Its only drawback I guess is that one side of them is a fabric backing, that's harder to wash. But at least it CAN be washed often. Wouldn't wash a leather one, at least not by soaking in a hot sink full of Cascade. Not at the price you'd pay for one.It feels pretty cheap though, to the one holding it, at least. Perhaps another drawback is that the strips don't have much mass, so it's just stingy little nip. The real deal will feel different.I got this for a sort of a gag gift. Personally this would be useless to me but it will achieve the task of making her blush, laugh, and hopefully she'll want to try this with a trusted mate. This is good for a beginner but if you are not a beginner you'll be disappointed.
