Series translate to 2022.I've been catching up on the vastly entertaining "Sex and the City" on DVD over the past few years, buying a season here and a season there, whenever the mood strikes. I usually write a little something about each season after watching it, but at this point, all I really have to add about the series as of the end of season four is this oft-repeated Amazon review phrase: if you've enjoyed the previous seasons, you'll enjoy this one, too. Okay, I'll try to cobble together one new thought: this season is as funny and sexy as previous seasons, but the characters are now deeper and the situations a little more complex. And the good thing is, the added nuance and resonance don't detract from the bawdiness, just make the whole package a little richer. On a somber note, the September 11 terrorist attacks occurred around the time that the fourth season of "Sex and the City" was unspooling on HBO, and it's sad to see the opening credits change somewhere mid-season, to remove images of the World Trade Center. The latter part of the season wisely avoided a major, overt acknowledgement of that terrible day (it really wouldn't have fit in this frothy show), choosing instead to conclude the season with the episode "I Heart New York", a classy tribute to the timelessness and enduring charm of America's most famous city. It worked perfectly.I don't have much else to say about these 18 well-done episodes except for maybe one more of those frequently-seen Amazon review phrases: I loved this season and am definitely on board for the next one.I love "Sex and the city" and I can't belive that this year it's to end this adventure of theese 4 ladies. They can easily go on with the show for 5 more years, it's a pity but there's nothing we can do.I always say "This is the best season" that actually happends with the latest season. In this season you can laugh without stop when Samantha falls in love with a lesbian, when Carrie saw her engagement ring and doesn't like it or when Charlote finds out that Trey is only impotent on her bed. As always in this series you see how this 4 girls love eachother when Miranda's mother dies.Lucy Lu appears in this season when Samantha want's to buy a Hermes handbag and she has to wait 4 months but she said that was for Lucy and she gets it and then Lucy thinks it's for her and when Samantha tells her the truth Lui comes mad (one thing is to expalin it here but other is to see it). They' re all great actresses I you haven't seen the series before I recommend you to see from the first season and if you've seen it I don't need to say anything because I know you'll buy it.I hope that the release next year the fifth and sixth seasons together considering that the fifth has only 8 episodes and I must also say that we, all the fans from this series such do something to make this hit show go on.I've watched every episode 1000 times ; some episodes are better than others ; one of my favorites is season 4: the last episode "I Love NY" that one is a classic; for very funny I always go with season 3 or 4 ; when Miranda finds out she's pregnant omg the first few scenes are hilarious! And that whole episode is very dead on about how a woman feels when she finds out she's pregnant and not sure if she wants to keep it. ( for the pro choice viewers). The first 2 seasons they were settling Into their characters; season 3/4 they were at their peak; I like season 5 it's just so short; season 6 is great too, but it's the last one. I tend to get a little sad watching it and, to me, the whole Russian boyfriend part was ok, but not completely believable; again, every single episode has something I like, but season 3 and 4 it was in its stratosphere :)I did not really appreciate Sex and the City until watching every episode sequentially on DVD. HBO tends to air random episodes out of sequence after their first showing and the show never really grabbed me until I discovered that there is actually plot and character development over time and not just endless brunches and mindless sex talk. For example, I did not know that Big appeared in the series from the beginning, and I never knew that Aidan and Carrie had been engaged before I started watching the DVDs from the beginning.Anyway, that being said, I love this series and I would encourage anyone who has seen a few episodes and wondered what the fuss is about to take the time to watch the show from the beginning. The Writer's Commentary on a few episodes on this DVD is generally not worth the price of the DVDs, in my opinion. He rarely tells us anything we couldn't notice ourselves, however, I had always wondered about the incident where Trey gives Charlotte a cardboard baby, which I understood as a plot device but thought was too tasteless a gesture to be plausible. I should have guessed that the "Cardboard Baby" was based on an actual experience and an example of truth being stranger than fiction. It's just good writing. It deals with popular culture and the messages to women (still relevant today) and how confusing it can be to be a woman. It achieves this while never abandoning the truth about women, and that is - that really, we are hard wired to want to have family, that we want and deserve warmth and closeness. And it unapologetically allows the characters to get that closeness and warmth in the end. Many people thought this was a series that thumbed its nose at convention. They thought it was licentious and encouraged women to thumb THEIR noses at women's roles at home and with family. In reality, it was one of the most well written series that showed the pain women feel by the real perpetrators against family, against deep commitment, against lasting faithfulness - SOME MEN (not all men) and their devil may care, greedy sexual attitudes. It has ALWAYS BEEN since time began, these male attitudes that shove women into a place where they are objectified and their goals toward what is good and lasting are demeaned.Eine meiner Lieblingsserien die ich förmlich verschlungen habe, daher klare Kaufempfehlung. Ich habe mir jede Staffel einzeln gekauft immer sobald es sie auf DVD gab. Einzelne DVD Boxen waren immer ohne viel Schnickschnack, Broschüren, Bonus etc. Ich kann auf sowas auch gut verzichten. Werde immer ein Sex and the City Fan bleiben. Staffel.Episode 49 Agonie und Ex-TaseEpisode 50 Das wahre IchEpisode 51 GrenzgängerEpisode 52 Das Huhn oder der Sex?Episode 53 Stadt der GeisterEpisode 54 Taten oder WorteEpisode 55 Vergeben und VergessenEpisode 56 Der große AbsturzEpisode 57 Sex & the CountryEpisode 58 EiertanzEpisode 59 Hätte, würde, sollteEpisode 60 Sag einfach jaEpisode 61 Ein harter KampfEpisode 62 Der beste Freund der FrauEpisode 63 Schwarz auf WeißEpisode 64 Geschuldet, geliehen, geschenktEpisode 65 Nicht davonlaufenEpisode 66 Ich liebe New YorkCoole StaffelGood qualityArrived on time and in good condition.
