As soon as I opened this product, I was pleasantly surprised by its feel! It was a bit weighty, featuring a metal handle coated in silicone. Sometimes with toys like this you don't get a good grip or they just feel flimsy, but this was higher quality than I anticipated! The handle also has a ridged texture so it won't fly off anywhere when you strike or if your hands get sweaty/slippery. The actual tawse (the striking portion) is made up of two side-by-side sections. That portion is about a foot long (maybe a little over) and almost two inches wide. Each segment moves freely, but they hit together with a wonderful sting! You don't have to hit very hard for this to be effective but, unlike with more rigid implements, you could put quite a bit of force behind this safely. The silicone is smooth and soft, with no little nicks or scratches or bumps that could hurt you outside of what you wanted. If you swing hard, you might want to add a strap to the handle end, but there is already a hole there for if you choose to do so! All in all, I am extremely satisfied in the quality of this product and can't wait to get some use out of it!!
